Last week, our exhibition came to an end, but our work didn’t stop right there. Instead of heading back immediately, we stayed a few extra days to hit the local market.
We set aside time to visit several long-term clients face to face. Talking in person is totally different from emails or video calls. We listened carefully to their real pain points: packaging preferences, order volume changes, and what they expect for custom tissue products. Lots of small details only come up during offline chats, which we would easily miss online.
We also walked through many local supermarkets and retail stores to check competing tissue products. We compared material choices — bamboo pulp vs wood pulp, different sizes, multi-layer options, and private label packaging solutions. It was eye-opening to see what sells well locally, what packaging catches shoppers’ eyes, and where competitors still leave room for improvement.
One big takeaway for us: OEM tissue business is never just about making products. It’s about understanding the local market demand. Clients don’t only want cheap paper; they need flexible customization. We can make tissues in any size, adjust ply numbers freely, use bamboo pulp or wood pulp, and support full private label packaging.
These market trips remind us that we have to keep our feet on the ground. The best product adjustments always start from observing the real market and communicating directly with buyers. We’ll take all these insights back to our factory, to better support our partners’ private label tissue projects.
